James and Wawi

Our dog Wawi was very unsure of Baby James when he first came home.  While James and I were still in the hospital, Ez brought home a baby hat James wore for Wawi to get used to his smell.  When we finally brought James home, Wawi had no idea what to make of him.  Wawi was used to being the number one man in our life.  He slept in between his Mom and Dad, and had my undivided love and attention.  Things have changed!  Fortunately, Wawi has warmed up to James and even greats him if he has been gone.  If James is in bed with me, Wawi loves to lay next to him.  James doesn't really notice Wawi, but as he gets older I think they are going to be great playmates and Wawi will be as good a companion to James as he is to his mom and dad.

My new cuddle bug is Baby James, but when he goes to his crib Wawi resumes his spot next to me!

Baby James' First Days Home

Baby James has had a lot of "firsts" on his first week home.  From his first time meeting his Aunt Mandy, "Uncle" Jim and his family, Aunt Christy and cousins Matthew, Meredith and Paige and Pastor Fly and Darlene, to his first pediatrician appointment and first bath.  James has taken everything in stride and seems to be a very curious baby.  I have a feeling when he gets older he won't be afraid to try new things but may give me a run for my money if he is too daring!

Ez's long time friend Jim and his family came down to meet Baby James for the first time.

James' first pediatrician appointment.  We got really lucky in finding an awesome doctor.  

 

Jame's first "bath".  He still has his scab from his umbilical chord so it was just a sponge bath.  He wasn't too pleased but typical of him he didn't cry.

 

 

James loves his Aunt Christy and cousin Paige.  Paige is only 7 weeks older than James so we suspect they will be great playmates as they get older.

 

James is a great sleeper and got to have his first nap with Grandpa.

 

James' first holiday which happened to be July 4th.  

 

James' cousins Meredith, Matthew and Paige.  Matthew and Meredith are great with James and are good at being gentle with him.

Pastor Fly and his wife Darlene came down for a first time visit with James.  He is lucky to have such wonderful people in his life.

 

Meredith has such a loving way with James' and loves to tell me how much she loves Baby James!

James is named after his Grandpa and I am sure they will have a lot of "firsts" as James gets older.

I'm sure everyone has figured out that our precious adorable little one is a baby boy, not a girl as previously posted.  Baby James Paul Wilson was born June 24th, 2012 at 6:41 am.  He weighed 6lbs 13 oz (not the estimated 8lbs previously thought, much to his mothers relief), was 19 1/2 inches long and had a head circumference of 13 1/4 inches.  He is perfect!  His Apgars were 8 and 9.  The delivery wasn't the easiest but was worth every bit of pain.  His first week in this world was traumatic both to him and his parents but after much worry and testing we can rest assured that he is a healthy happy very chill little man.
